Train n°3: Ekaterinburg to Irkutsk

The longest trip: 55 hours!!!

and there was an itinerary on the door so that we could always get the info where are we... otherwise my time sense was lost... we passed 3 time zones in 3 nights and 2 full days!!!In the stations where the train normally stops for 20-30 min you can get off the train, take a walk, buy some food, drinks...

In every vagon of the train there is 1 or 2 provodnitsa проводница (if woman), provodnik проводник (if man): she/ he is responsible for checking the tickets, keeping order in the vagon, close the toilet near the stations, help to the passangers if needed etc. It is really worth to have a good relationship with them... our Spanish guy practiced this :D

One of the funniest experience happened when it was extremely hot in the vagon and even the master of the window (Georgios) couldn't open the window... so we called the provodniks for help... soon they came and open the window... with the help of an axe!!!! :D

Then we also used creative solutions to keep the window a bit down...

One thing that is free without limit on the trains: HOT WATER...
this is how it works :)

and it is possible to make tea, "business lunch", quick pasta, pastette etc... full pension... all inclusive...
Then if necessary you can queue for the toilet...

However, again, in Russia everything is possible if you have a little money... timetable is only for people without money :)

What we can do on the train after eating?
Hell of a lot of things!!! First of all landscape watching... then watching landscape...






then of course celebrating birthdays, drinking, singing and playing the guitar, learning how to drink vodka properly, reading, talking: exchanging experiences, sleeping etc. It is not possible to describe this part of the trip... this is something that everyone has to experience on its own!!!!! Unforgottable :D
